Default S13 LED Gauge Cluster

Anyone ever done a S13 LED/Bulb swap in their Analog Gauge cluster? I'm trying to find some information on bulb numbers and possibly some pictures would help if you have them, thanks!

go to 240sxforums, there is a huge thread on it with mad pics. Any 194-type LED will fit, same as digital clusters. I got blue lights in my digicluster, looks nice.

I just changed my S14 to LED. I have to say I'm not that impressed, only did it for the color change. You need 4 bulbs iirc for s13. superbrightleds.com

I would have to second that, they really are not any brighter, but, the color does not fade like on the colored reg. bulbs. Also, superbrightleds.com is OK, but less than a year later, and all of mine broke from them (maybe I just got a bad batch?). I just picked up some more in the ricer aisle of pepboys, they are working fine (lasted longer than the superbrightleds.com atleast).

The light from LEDs does not diffuse throughout the entire dash the way stock bulbs do. Incandescent bulbs light all around the bulb, LED light just straight ahead of the bulb. Look at the light pattern from an old school flashlight, and an LED flashlight. The LED light gives you a much more clearly defined edge, while the conventional (incandescent) light fades into darkness. In a gauge cluster this gives you dark, poorly lit areas wherever there is no bulb. Some people make LED bulbs with side firing LEDs to minimize this, but incandescent still gives the best light pattern when bulb locations are limited.

I would say the wide angle ones are best, and really, show no cutoff in the gauge cluster. Basically, they put a small concave (?) lens on the top, which diffuses the light by about 180 degrees, and, they work pretty well.

BTW, don't mean to thread jack, but sr20VET, whats the deal with the power brace? Still want to sell it? Let me know, thanks!

Yeah wide angle has no dark spots, lights every inch of the cluster evenly
